What is the Anderson Neptune 2 part travel shaft like?
anderson 2 part carbon travel sandscoop shaft
I have been extensively using this Anderson 2 part carbon fiber sand scoop shaft, metal detecting on the beach for the past few weeks. Detecting on the dry sand and in the water, along with searching for the older metal detecting finds in the black sand of the water areas.

This shaft i have to say is living up to all expectations from Anderson, Super light weight, strong and with the Strengthening piece inside the lower shaft, i have used for the past few years a single piece Anderson Neptune Sandscoop shaft and all but the stainless steel scoop shaft i use i have no fear in the single piece Neptune shaft breaking, detecting the dry sand and in the water.

anderson neptune travel shaft The 2 Piece Travel Shaft from Anderson is super tough, packs away to a super transportable size and joins together with a threaded section made from i presume either aluminium or at a push titanium (Not Sure).
This section is held together with a bonding agent and 4 rivets which even align when the shaft is joined together ( this is really an eye for detail from Anderson)

Dry sand and in the water this shaft is flawless and i hold no fear that i am going to break it anytime soon of course there is going to be a but from me and i may be proved wrong, but for the pressure involved digging in the wet black sand down to the clay i think the week point could be the screw together join, so for that area i shall stay with the Anderson Neptune Single Carbon Fiber Shaft.
